Canonical Ltd, the commercial sponsor of Ubuntu, today announced it has signed an agreement with Altkom Akademia to deliver 'Ubuntu Certified Professional' (UCP) training in Poland. Altkom will deliver official courses in Warsaw starting in September 2007.

Two five day courses, Ubuntu Professional Courses 1 & 2, will assist system administrators in passing the required LPI 101, LPI 102 and the Ubuntu 199 exams, and achieve the Ubuntu Certified Professional certification. These courses are part of a series of classroom and e-learning courses scheduled for launch throughout 2007.

With over 73 classrooms in seven major cities, Ubuntu training will be available to customers throughout Poland. “Altkom Academia is one of the most important players in the Polish training market; their Linux training portfolio and in-depth knowledge of the industry made them a natural choice for Canonical,” commented, Chris Kenyon, director of Business Development at Canonical.

“We have been delivering Linux training for many years now and have witnessed the shifting trends in the market. Needless-to-say, providing our customers with Ubuntu certification options makes our offer more attractive and we are excited at being the first in Poland to do so.”

The first Ubuntu Professional course will open in Warsaw in September and will run for five days.
