The purpose of this weekly update is to make sure our community can follow development with toes dipped in before & between jumping headlong into helping shape Ubuntu Server.
Server Sprint
The Canonical Server team met in Denver, Colorado this week. The purpose was to review the previous release and review progress on Artful work as well as plan out goals for the next LTS coming next year.
Cloud-init/Curtin
- cloud-init:
- Full review of all outstanding merge requests. Comments added where changes, fixes, or clarifications are needed and dropped bzr requests.
- Accepted merge to allow nocloud seed from dmi data (lp:1691772)
- Completed overhaul of integration test framework adding additional error handling, simplified image generation and modification, and feature flags for specifying what images tests can be run on.
- Fix style tests (lp:1695918), unit tests (lp:1695318), and snapcraft.yaml file (lp:1695333)
- Fixes for netplan network state clean up (lp:1689346 and lp:1691100)
- Reviewed and updated the Red Hat spec file. Added tools and testing for spec file and generated srpm and rpm.
- Using COPR to generate RPMs for EPEL and Centos https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/g/cloud-init/cloud-init/
- Daily builds of master are also available https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/g/cloud-init/cloud-init-dev/
- curtin:
- Full review of all outstanding merge requests. Comments added where changes, fixes, or clarifications are needed.
- Updated vmtest to get port from kernel by using port 0.
Server ISOs
All architectures and currently building and passing tests after resolving lp:1694531
Triage Queue
- The triage queue was reviewed heavily this week for actionable bugs on supported releases as well as sufficient information to make progress.
